A Comparative Analysis of
Technical versus Everyday Language in Teaching Behavioral
Concepts to University Students
An Evaluation of a Teacher Led Noncontingent
Reinforcement Intervention in a Child Development Classroom
The language with which behavioral science is disseminated influences
its acceptance into the mainstream. Use of technical vs everyday
language is used to teach students new to the field and the results are
presented.
Noncontingent reinforcement (NCR) is a widely recognized approach to
reducing problem behaviors, using time-based schedules to deliver
reinforcers. Results of this study are presented regarding teacher led
NCR on off-task behavior in early childhood education settings and
generalized across educational environments.
